Engaged in the dissertation research: Development of Ultrasonic Motor Control System. Funded by Science and Technology committee of Jilin Province.
The research mainly focus on how to obtain the signal from the noise with 10-100 times amplitude higher, how to produce the signal with such a low amplitude to control the ultrasonic-motor precisely, and using the H-infinite algorithm to control the system effectively. It is my dissertation research. It is on going. I will publish 2 papers on the research in 1999.

IC Golden Card Company in Shenzhen
Engaged in the project: Identification System of Vehicle Passing Through the Boundary Line of P. R. China in the Huanggang Port of Shenzhen City. Funded by the government of Shenzhen City.
Based on the length information obtained by the infrared-ray sensors, matching it by RMS to the types of the standard vehicles stored in the library to identify the vehicles passing through the Boundary Line of P. R. China into 2 types. I designed the hardware and software for the system. For the image compression of the standard vehicle, I applied nonlinear VQ technique. For the image restoration, I applied the characteristic image restoration in the physical dimension.

HuaYin Company in Changchun
Engaged in the project: Identification System of Moving Vehicle on Changchun - Siping Highway. Funded by Science and Technology Committee of Jilin Province.
Based on the 3-Dimension information obtained by the infrared-ray sensors and image processing matching it by RMS to the types of the standard vehicles stored in the library to identify the vehicles passing through the Changchun-Siping Highway into 4 types. In the project, except the infrared-ray sensor was bought, I developed the hardware for the whole system and compiled the software for the data processing. The system has been working very well for 2 years on the Changchun-Siping Highway. It was authenticated by the Regulation Association of Highway of P. R. China. Owing to its practical and advantage, it turned to be a product. I obtained the honors from Science and Technology Committee of Jilin Province.

Engaged in the research: Digital Image Compression based on Nonlinear VQ for Telecommunication. Funded by Science and Technology Committee of Jilin Province.
Based on the VQ theory, I preferred the new method for the static image: the region was divided by the vice- Nyquist and sampled once every two regions. For the image compression, I applied DCT and compression encoding by VQ. For the image restoration, I applied nonlinear store statistic filter insert to fill the empty region. The method had been applied into the projects "Identification System of Vehicle Passing Through the Boundary Line of P. R. China in the Huanggang Port of Shenzhen City" and "Identification System of Moving Vehicle on Changchun-Siping Highway", and obtained the good results.

Engaged in the research: Image Compression based on the Fractal Theory. Funded by Science and Technology Committee of Jilin Province.
During my graduate study, my researches work mainly focused on the image compression. I applied the neighbor Domain Blocks with non-fixed length to match the Range Blocks to accomplish the nonlinear match. The "Lena" image (256กม256) can be compressed at compression rate 15.2 and the PSNR was 28.92 dB and the time was nearly half of typical method. Now having referred many papers, I have some new ideas to the research. Maybe I can obtain some more excited results if I have a chance to continue on it.

Participated in the project: Design of Display Screen for the Foreign Exchange. Funded by the Changchun Branch Bank of the Industrial and Business Bank of China.
I extended the high speed serial port of PC to accomplish the data acquisition and communication to meet the critical real-time requirements. This project gave the bank a good name of rapid and convenient service for several years' use.

Engaged in the research: Design of Extended PCB for IBM PC for the Micro-controllers Lab.
It was the project of my undergraduate thesis. I designed an experiment system for the Micro-controllers Lab for the undergraduate students. Based on PC XT Bus, 32 I/O was extended to control 8255 (extended I/O), 8253(Timer/Counter), 0809 (A/D), 0832(D/A), 8259 (Interrupt), 74LS273 (Output Port), 0809 (A/D) based on DMA and 0832 (D/A) based on DMA. The experiment system was authenticated by JUT. Owing to the accomplishment of the experiment system, I became the "Excellent Undergraduate of 1994".
